I would appreciate it if one of our members with a working installation of DarkSpace would be able to Zip up the install directory and upload it to the internet somwhere. I cannot do this myself due to internet connection limitations.
The files that do not need to be included are Screenshots, Chat logs, and the config.ini file and the unsupported graphics pack.
This will help a couple of players out who are unable to update thier current installation due to a N/R response from the update server, although it appears to be functioning normally.
We appreciate any help.

As long as they have the inital install, they can extract these dll's and exe's over the top of the old ones, and just download the .wob files. But I'm not spending my time uploading a 40mb file when half of the things I do here either go un-noticed or un-apretiated

These are 4 year old files. Every single file would need to be updated anyway. You need to download GameCQ and install DS from that.

I have the game cq downloaded but my updates aren't working. Do you mean I should download the whole thing all over again?

don't know if this belongs here or not.
When i try and update it gets nearly done then stops responding and closes out. Any help would greatly be appreciated

The latest installer. DarkSpace 1.540 contains about 90% of all data needed to run the game.
Mostly missing would be the latest GCQL updates, and the 1.541 changes.
If you are running windows Vista or Windows 7, it is recommended to run GCQL (darkspace) with "Administrator" rights and not have it installed on a protected directory (e.g. c:\program files\ or c:\windows).
But just to ask more information. what update crashes?

i got Win vista. Its not in a protected folder its in C driver main area. The problem arises when it says connecting to GameCQ server. heres most of the problem report

its only MFC71.DLL every time nothing else. and it worked just fine before the update

I checked and the DS installer provides the same version.
After discussing it, it sounds unlikely that gcql is at fault.
I suggest deleting darkspace, re-download the installer (linl) and install again.
Should the problem persist, i could be likely related to something on your machine, recent changes of program or virus/spyware might be interfering with gcql starting.

ya were very close some how my firewall changed to block the client so got that fixed and it running like a charm again. Thanks a bunch for your effort
