You know Im sick and tired of people calling me a noob cause I use a escort Destroyer. I just use whats out there. If you feel its unfair take your complaints to the developers, not me. I use what I can to win. No questions no excuses. So your little name calling just makes me want to get my ED sooner. When I played UTGO I always went up against an ICC ED. You just have to fly better. But you never heard me call people names. Cause if you want to call someone a noob for using a legal ship, you have some issues.

That's just the point. No matter your skill level, vet, or noob, you can't beat an ED one on one, or even two on one. ED's are incredibly unbalanced, and are not meant to be fitted with cannons. Their shields are also broken (all ICC shields below dread are).
This is why people call you a noob. Exploiting a weekness in this version to gain the upper hand. It's exactly the same as bombing, no one likes bombers.
It doesn't matter on your rank, or ammount of time played here. If you use the ED a lot, or bomb to gain an upper hand unfairly, then you're a noob in 95% of most peoples eyes. Since it's not playing the game the way it's meant to be played.
p.s. As a combat vet, you may want to listen to this advice. Find a ship that isn't uber. Try not to use the ED. Because over time, you may find yourself using that ship most of the time, and getting used to its overpoweredness. When (if) a patch comes out to fix it, you'll get into the habit of relying on that ships power to carry you through, and it won't be there anymore. Try to rely on your skill, and not the ship. Which is currently almost impossible in the ED.

and just a heads up: because people don't like the use of ED, you will be the primary target during any fight if using one.

The name calling just shows that those doing it reall are weak. Unable to relate to things in a normal manner. It is not what we like to see int the game. Just ignore them - they never learn

Understand yar, that anyone who uses the ED is looked down upon, it matters not who you are, it just is.
And for good reason, its a very unbalanced ship that is protested against strongly. It is in a way a legal ship, but its design was never its intention.
You see, the Escort Destroyer wasn't meant to be a gunship, but a PD boat, by being able to use it as a gunship, makes it so much more powerful, because it gets excellent combat abilities combined with its already high defences and speed.
In other words, the perfect ship for any situation.
Except of course, thats how no ship in Darkspace should be.
The ED itself can be beaten, but generally requires quite the force to do it, regardless of skill.
So in crux of it all, if you dont want to be called a noob, use a different ship.

Well, teach them the hard way then. With warnings and temp bans. Stuff like this is agaisnt the RoC as you know. Take the accusations seriously and follow them up. By all accounts, no-one yet has apologized, merely restated why they feel justified in their point-of-view. There's no excuses for threatening or insulting behaviour in-game. So what if the game is unbalanced and it gets exploited? The vets that have chimed in so far should know better than to try to enforce some kind of 'ideal' way of playing on others, as should everyone. Lead by example, not by force.

I think that's a suggestion. IE, if you don't mind being called names, then by all means keep using it. If you do on the other hand, ditch it.

However unintentional it is, it's a veiled threat. "If you don't do such and such, then your in for it." You're not saying "if you do such and such, I will bully you" instead you attack by proxy, by saying others will. If you like, you're making threats on behalf of 'others' that will follow through. It just points to the fact that harrassing behaviour is rife and unchecked, so much so you can rely on it.
As a real life example, picture two skinheads walking up to an elderly man on the street. One skinhead says politely "Excuse sir, might I suggest you give us all of you money, otherwise my friend here might hurt you."
So, suggestion or threat?
It's not, imo, the way we should encourage new players to play fair. If someone is flying a ship you consider unbalanced, avoid them. They'll soon get bored. There's no need to bully ppl into playing the game in any particular way.

It bothers me that your opinions always tend to be the spawn of flame wars, as this is fast becoming.
You always must have an arguement if someone doesn't agree with you, and that turns into some war on conflicts of interest, and it gets locked.
It is however, not a threat. It is only percieved by threat by those who want the trouble.
If it was a threat it would be "Stop using the ED or we WILL keep calling you names and harassing you."
A suggestion is that "If you do not like people harassing you, it would be better to simply stop doing it."
Now, as was before, with here thats how it is. It's a bit like breaking your arm, complaining it hurts, and still trying to use it. If people dislike you because you use a ship, that their own opinion, its up to you whether or not you really do care about it.
If you do, stop using it, and people won't look twice. If you don't, keep using it, but don't complain if people start to not like you for it.
See Cold? No threats. Only discussion. Now kindly either be helpful or continue to raggle on an arguement as you normally do.

Just leave him alone, If he wants to use the ed let him, because sometime in 2037, when the patch comes out, he'll have no skill what so ever with other ships, and thus becomes an easy kill.
