Over the last few weeks in the Scenraio server's i'vde had lots of Newbies come and ask about certain aspects of the game and how to do certain things. This is a quick guide i'm composing for 1.483.6 only. This is what i have come up with only, if anyone else has anything to Add/Amend about this please reply to this post, but please no commentary on anything else or this.

JUMPING:

Firstly you don't just have to select a planet or ship to jump to.
Emergancy jumping is a great that you should love as your freind. its simply SHIFT + J. The e-jump can be used as long as your Jump drive(s) are working.

Another way of jumping is (When your in the F2 system veiw) is CTRL + Left mouse button. this will select a point in space for you to jump to.

When you are jumping please take note of the red/white line from your ship to your destiantion in the F2 veiw. A White line tells you that there are no bostacles in your path, a Red line means that you will hit something and die when you jump. Also from jumping to/away from/near planet you must compensate for there orbits!

NOTE: selecting a planet and Pressing "o" (to orbit the Planet) your ship (if it is far enough away) will automaticly jump to that planet.

BOMBING:

Bombing is fairly simple, made even easier by the bugs in this version around it. Firslty afetr getting your bomber out, you should upgrade at the nearest freindly planet. You should upgrade all your ships systems expect the bombs themselves. I will explain how to upgrade Below.

Once your ship is upgraded and your armour/sheilds recharged. you need to set your ship to 15 gu/s by either carefull using the up/down arrows or by using the yellow slider bar on the bottem-left of the screen.

When you are at 15 gu/s switch to F2 veiw and check that you have a clear line to your target. if not then keep CTRL + click jumping untill you are. Then using CTRL + Left mouse click you should select a point of space that is between you and your target planet, and is just under 2000 gu's away from the planet itself. Then making sure your still at 15 gu/s jump to the point you have selected.

Now, You need to select the planet and wait until the bomb system icon goes green (In the bottem/middle left of your screen) When this goes green, Press "B" to fire the bomb. Now, you'll want to fire as many if not all your bombs at the same spot on the planet to maxium its blast. Genrally if you started from just under 2K away you could fire all your bombs.

Again CHECK YOUR SPEED! un-upgradde bombs travel at 15gu/s so thst is what you want your speed to be, then all you have to do is "sit" on top of the bombs, making sure that the majority of them are within the Coloured arcs representing your sheilds/armour.

When you are closer to the planet then 200K pull away at your discreation. some people like to leave early but this leaves the bomb open for being shot down... most people follow the bombs in as close as they can to the planet before moving away.

UPGRADING:

All you need to be able to upgrade ni this version is a freindly planet.
Simply orbit a freindly planet.
When you have stopped moving and at next to the planet, mkae sure your within 200 gu's of it. then right clicking on your ships diffrent system on the left, a explanation of them and some icon should appear on the rbottem-right of the screen. If your close enough to the planet the buttom with the $ symbol on it will birghten up. simply keep clicking button until it goes dull again. then right click on the next device and repeat the above steps.

MODDING:

This is simply the term used for swapping out one item for another of your choice. But beware when you do this, you must take into considertion What faction the device, What slot it goes into, If you even have the slot(s) for it and wether you have the ammo/power requiard for it.

CONSRUCTION:

An enginner craft can only be used by those of ensign rank or above.
To get the more powerfull Enginerring ships you'll need to be of even higher rank and have the enginnering badges.

Well, for building you need to be orbiting the planet. Then selecting the planet and a load of white Diamonds will appear all over the planet, these are build slots and only one sTructure may occupie one of these at any one time.

I find building easiestr in the F3 veiw but then you do not know what is goind on around you. but you'll need F3 veiw anyway to check how much population your planet has/ how much power / food / research and rescources. To build simply select noe fo the white dimonds and list of building will apear on your right. Most will be in RED and some in WHITE. you can only build the white ones. You need to start off by building a colony hub, that is the first thing you should do. Then build in what ever order of buildings you like, but it's better to learn off the Vet's what to build and when to build it.

When building you need to take into account how much power you have, How much population, How much population you can surport and wether you have the rescources or not for such a production.

To be able to build the higher lvl buildings you need to have a high technology/research. I think 90 would enable all buildings to you.
Research depends upon how many Research labs you have, A colony hubs gives you an itinal research of 10. The speed at which the research is acully done is dependant upon the population you have. at least i think.

This all i think is needed for now. Untill later people!
