Just a request,

make scraping buildings and structures on planets work along the line of a sy under blockade. When enemy ships are around the planet or even after troops have been landed, you can not scrap structures.

I find it funny that some of the very people who get upset about MIRVs find it ok to scrap the buildings on a capped planet.

this deprives us of factories, sy's, existing sheilds, interdictors and such, why bother using the nuet to begin with.

It is easier to cap a planet that is bare dirt with no danger of being you or your inf being shot up or dying. Not worth it if a bunch of high tech buildings except for the ones we cant build ourselves are there.

you lose pres on the scraping of above noted building when you have to scrap them to build the tech needed to replace our equivelant of the lost buildings, or just leave them the easy cap they now are.

the only reason in my book to use a nuet to begin with is to capture the stuff i cant build my self.

if i nuet a planet and key structures are scrapped this = deterrent
if i nuke a planet then build it i get double pres this = incentive

Think about it.

Infantry 1: new orders, the icc are invading, we're to blow up this generator.
Infantry 2: but there's icc ships in orbit!
Infantry 1: oh. good point, wanna go grab a beer before the end of the world?

Fine I'll buy that let them set thier infantry to raze

Infantry 1 look they are trying to blow up the generator
infantry 2 lets kill them
infantry 1 CHARGE!!

at least this way we have a chance to stop it.

@Doran, this might not be realistic, but he sure as bloody hell has a good point.

I totally agree btw.
Scrapping of important things like shields, factories or shipyards, ok but for the rest, i say no to scrapping-_-

I agree with the blockade idea and how about that and adding a feature of friendly inf scrapping important buildings at the same rate as an enemy inf scraps?

First of all...

1. Scrapping is murder for prestige..
2. its an old tactic... "poison the wells" you just make it harder for the enemy to continue.
3. its murder for prestige.

although the thought of blockade = no scrapping is interesting..

only orbitting ships could scrap then im all for it

I like the point that you should have to be in orbit to scrap buildings. I, myself, have fallen victim to scrapping on quite a few occassions. But, I rarely do it anymore..... now, all I do is deactivate alot of stuff For instance, deactivate the colony base and all power = no pop and no power. Now on planets that already have a set amount of pop and power to begin with... well you're basically screwed. Instead of scrapping.. try deactivating stuff. I'm sure you all will find it alot better than scrapping. Unless you really want to give more players more prestige by letting them build...

We all know its murder on pres, but not that bad for the unamed GA that was doing it. i wont name them because this isnt a flame, but high rankers can afford the pres.

Well could just make it so you can only scrape if there is inf on planet perhaps, else noone to build it up, maybe require certain ammout of troops to scrape specifi buildings since it requires charges place lot of places...

yeah i had that same thing happen to me, i went looking for ugto factories since i need to get a few pc's and well every planet i started nueting as soon as i landed troops on it the planet was already scraped down to just a few buildings, then on top of that was flamed by ugto members for nuking.. so yes i agree stop scrapping

scrapping is wrong unless it benifits you or your fleet/faction

Yes and whoever activates it loses 1000 prestige=) I have to scrap facts at times...cause I will find like 6 kluth facts on a planet that shouldn't.

wouldnt work because builders may be building on a planet without inf on it. Then there would be no way for builders to scrap their buildings to improve. This problem would be especially present in servers that have a new sinario every 2 hours or less which make it hard to obtain a large quantity of inf.

Have fun with 32 depots on a planet in admiral
