There's nothing wrong with it, just wanted to say that for a while now. I just won't go all the way down on your posts.

I'm traumatized by the signature I guess

Since Mac has put the Intel chip in its system, There is a good possibilty of running Windos XP on a MAC.

In many ways, it will permit to have access to way more programs that are normaly made just for MAC.

Me, as a MAC lover, im very glad about this since ill be able to do some vidéo post-productions aswell as playing at Darkspace and others games.

Mac cannot emulate directx properly, and therefor, cannot run DarkSpace. I believe my friend Sono has been able to run GCQL on WineX, but it took him a long while, and even then, he couldn't get it to function properly, and DarkSpace would not start.

Some people seem to think that just because the CPU has changed from a PowerCPU to an Intel chip, that all of a sudden Windows can be installed. A small FYI for those of you who think it's all because of the Intel chip, the iWindows project (Windows on a Macintosh) was started years ago, and can run on a PowerCPU with a bit of modification. Indeed, having an Intel CPU does make it easier, but not significantly.

Mac machines cannot run Windows without hacking both hardware and software. Not only that, but no PC components work in Mac's, meaning even IF you can get it to emulate DirectX properly, the Mac's don't have the power to emulate it properly. I don't know if you've ever seen a software layer of DirectX, but just running Counter strike (7 year old game) in Software render mode makes the machine shudder to a halt, and that's just a simplified DirectX emulation by the machine. Mac's cannot handle this properly, and can only run games where a majority of the graphics are handled by the CPU. Currently, one of the only newer games to work on the Mac-Hack, is EVE-Online, and that's because 75%~ of it's graphics are generated by the CPU, with marginal help from the graphics card.

Since a Mac cannot fit a graphics card (a PC one), it cannot support hardware DirectX, and therefor, cannot run games properly. There are Windows emulation software for Mac, but you'll find that the gaming performance on it is utterly rubbish, and no where near that of a proper pc.

not so fast

I’ve been playing with Windows XP SP2 on a 20-inch Intel-based iMac at work. And it really works quite remarkably.

i have even gone so far to thinking about installing Boot Camp om my new
MacBook Pro , reason simple my homesystem is running XP and my work notebook is MacBook Pro , nice for me to have same programs avalible on both systems with a few keystrokes.

as it is now i can use my mac software on XP but not the other way around.

and dont forget that these changes are just first steps

want some hardcore performance facts look here at PC world

im going all the way soon gona test ds

btw Directx 10 is gona be platform idependent so pc/Linux/mac/xbox what ever, all use the same.....

The real problem is, there's no hardware DX10 support on iMac's, and I doubt Apple can make graphics cards that are up to spec of that of Matrox/Nvidia/Ati and such. But - time will tell.

"Using a Mac is a little different than using a PC. You sort of have to trick it, fool it into what you really want it to do. Um, you kind of have to sneak up on a Mac."

"I don't feel that I'm so much operating the Mac as that I'm there sharing the Mac experience. And if I can get something useful done while the Mac is willing, so much the better."

OOooh..

Funny anti-mac video.

Should give you an idea of just how friendly Mac's are with games.
