In regards to my affection for the Assault class Cruiser - formerly the mainstay of the Confederate Navy - it should be noted that I was opposed to the proposed refits that were eventually approved. As such, I have requested that my personal flagship, the newly commissioned C.S.S. Charger, be of a modified Heavy Cruiser class, not Assault class as the forebearer's of the Charger have been.
The alligations put forth by receintly re-promoted (again) Admiral Watts that I am a stout supporter of a dangerously ineffective class of ship such as the redesigned Assault Cruiser are without validity and should be taken with a grain of salt.
