How about splitting the client into two windows (or basicly one), instead of four.
Lobby & Browser
Games & Servers
That way people can sit in the lobby, browse, and do the stuff that people do in the lobby, without having to switch between panels. Then, you could have a MiRC tabbing system, where you click on Games & Servers, and it opens the second window in which a list of the games and servers are listed. Not only does this get rid of confusion (because 4 windows can be confusing), it makes it a lot easier to do things in DarkSpace (because chatting and clicking on links in seperate windows is quite annoying honestly!).
I'm not sure how difficult this would be to impliment unfortunatly, I've done a little thingy to show what I mean on the Games & Servers window though.
The Lobby & Browser would simply be the same as we have now in release.
It would also be a good idea to return "Group" to "Fleet", as it doesn't really fit in with the game.
So, in a simple list:
1) Merge the browser and lobby back together, and the games and servers list together.
2) Create a tab at the top that allows us to switch between the two (or just create a button that swaps between the two).
3) Swap "Group" back to "Fleet".
I believe this would get rid of any fears and problems converting to the new system.

Take into account that the new GameCQ client is also designed to support games other than DarkSpace.
I wouldn't be suprised if group is just a working title for that section, and will change to fleet/guild/clan, dependent on which game lobby you use.
The multiple windows can be annoying. I would prefer a system where you could optional dock or float them.

That's what I thought. I don't think anyone would mind if GCQL 2 (easier to call it that) stayed like this for the time being just for 1.484.

I like the current one we're using. I've grown accustomed to it. Must we change? I think the one we use right now is rather nice.

Use windowed mode and stretch the window so you can see winamp. Use the slim-line Winamp (its the middle button in the top right hand corner), and then just play songs using that.
