Jack and I dueled in beta a few nights ago. Siphon vs EAD. It was somewhat close he won with about 44% hull showing...or thats aleast what I saw before I went kboom. I don't think its not a matter of jack not having experience flying the EAD. I found the siphon to be some what unappealing. I see it as a friendly fire boat that runs out of energy. Anywho what do i know but the ship never seem very elite to me when I played with in 483 either. I felt much scarier in a TC then the EAD.

I just have one question:
Are we Talking about the .483 EAD, .484 EAD or both? Seems to be both to me.
483 EAD? It's ok I reckon. Not fond of the QST Power drain however.
484 EAD? It's ok I reckon. Not fond of the QST Power drain however.
I saw the .481 EAD in action, and flew more than one .482 EAD. If I had a Choice I'd take the .482 over all the rest.
It's been awhile since I played beta but I think that given 1 more Aux Gen, and QST or not it would be great(not overpowered yet not underpowered). I understand the QST will be removed however. I like the Core Weapons myself. They're a bit overpowered IMO, but I would like to see them stay(if reduced in power)
I never have been a big fan of Dreads (any type or any faction) I perfer Cruisers myself. I'll fly a dread now an then, but I'm happy with a TC or AC (never cared much for Kluth ships at all)
As far as the EAD/AD/Siphon being the "End all BE all OMGUBER" Ships to an extent yeah sure, but NO ship should be able to stand toe to toe with 3 or more ships of ANY type by itself, regardless of pilot skill.
Should an EAD or AD own 2 Dessies? Sure! If they are foolish enough to get within range of it.
Should a Siphon be capable of beating down 2 cruisers? I suppose given the right Pilot yes.....be it would take one hell of a beating itself.
ANY 1 vs 1 battle between an EAD/AD/Siphon should result in a Draw IMO....Actually MOST 1vs1 battle should IMO regardless of ship type.
However any single EAD/AD/Siphon that takes on 3 or more of any type ship on its own should be beaten easily.
Well......except for Scouts, and Trannys of course.

1 dread v 4 dessies should see the dread win if the dessies are stupid enough to come close. If not, it should see the dread slowly (very slowly) dying. Otherwise, it should just be able to jump out.
