I think it would be a very nice idea, to have them designed. We have bagdes, I don't see why we shouldn't have insignia for our ranks.

maybe instead of making all stars, different ranks would have different symbols
ie:
midshipman- lt
each extra bar would represent a higher rank, midshipmans would have nothing
ex: lt
lt commander- captains
the same process would start over but with a triangle on top
ex: captain
the same would be for 2nd admiral- vice admiral but it would be a pentagon on top
ex: vice admiral
admiral - Grand admiral would be similar but they would have a star
btw, yeah i know im no artist

I might do something based off these.
Although, cutting them and making them into transparent gif's doesn't work to well, because they leave a white edge on all of them. So I'm not sure what to do.

i say we use american Navy rank. we ARE using the U.S. Navy's rank structure.
