The only place worth having some kind of Visable Rank is besides one's name while they hover their pointer over your Ship.

ps. Please note that the Star's are there cus I couldnt find any better pix of Ranks quickly.. So Im sure somebody with better pix and paintshop skilz could make this idea look alot better and with a differnt assortment of ranks.
