Having only played DS for about a week or a little more I would like to ask how I could setup a new planet in the MV? I ask this mainly due to the fact that just surviving in the MV for anyone with less than a fully Moded Dread is very hard, unless you are a part of a Guild (which at this time I am not, I don't think I am good enough yet for anyone to even want to ask if I would like to join their guild/fleet)
Anyway if I am unable to set my own planet up without it being totally destroyed or without me being totally destroyed is it OK to buy mod parts from other people's planets?
I ask this because I am now able to use a Gunboat Destroyer and would really like to not have to loose it the first time I take it out, not to mention it has taken me a lot of continual work to get the small amount of credits I have and loosing a destroyer a couple of times would put me back into negative yet again.
Oh one more thing, sorry if this is a bit long how do I go about saving my ship once I have brought mods for it? I have heard people talking about saving ships in MV but have had no luck, eg. I did a couple of small mods on a UGTO Frigate (upgraded the sheilds) but when I next went into the MV it was gone.
Any help u or anyone else can give would be great.
Thanks

Building a planet requires an engineering ship. As for the specifics of it, well, you'd have to ask someone who builds a lot (ie, not me) or look for the engineering guide on http://ravenwarriors.com/ds

Nuh-uh. Dreads are actually the most vulnerable ships in the game. You can beat em in scouts if you know how to go fast and turn a lot. Just practice more, a dessie will do you fine...

Why yes, it's just fine. The reason mod planets are set up in the first place is so everyone on the faction can mod their ships.

Well, first of all make absolutely sure you upgrade everything on your ship to its max level (I assume you know how to do that; orbit friendly planet, right click on part, click the $ button on the bottom right). Then, you need to know how to fly well. True mastery of space combat will only come with time and experience, but you can get some general pointers here (look for the 'Basic Flight Control' guides).
As for credits, just ask for some. People will usually throw a couple million your way with no problem.

Any modification you do to ship components (ie, replacing an EMP cannon with a Particle cannon) will be saved immediately, but cargo and upgrades usually require you to SY in order for the database to save it (although it will also save it if you're flying around in it for a while - not sure the exact time though).
Easiest thing to do is SY immediately after you finish modding, then pop back out. Your ship will be saved.
Have fun!
