That question's probably there to see how long them new recruits will wrangle out their brains over it, and is in fact entirely irrelevant =p

my professor wants us to see and do a test experiment on the scientific method using all the dependant, independent variables, controls and hypothesis.... Etc. just to get a practice run on social behaviors, I may or may not tell you later the significance to red or blue but it has something to do with sports in my region.... and you all are the independent variable, which have nothing to do with my region, thus are independent variable...

No, he's using us as a demographic group, which is silly because we're very homogenous..
Well.

Ethically you should tell us the reason for the poll, though.. just because it may seem inconsequential doesn't mean you don't have to explain it. Hell, I did a 5 question survey on political viewpoints for a political science class back in the day and had to get "informed consent" and do a debriefing... and the questions were like "rate yourself on a scale of liberal to conservative."
That said, you can thumb your nose at the rules and I won't care.

Did anyone notice the background color of the poll is blue?
I wonder how that screws the results, eh!

I didn't see any magic sauce options...
I'm severly disapointed.
