Ender's Game is a fantastic book. All the books that follow in the series are great too.

The entire Enders series - best sci fi series that I can think of. Some really good fantasy series out there but not a whole lot of scifi ones...

hey guys im still alive

Want to read some classic stuff

read ASIMOV´s "the Foundation series"

my all time favourite, only surpassed by Frank herberts "DUNE"

and while we on scifi, meet my new Boss since last 6 months.

http://3dscreen.ramboll.dk/

with our 3D projectors, the images projected are re-assembled and re-generated in a transparent prism-like pyramid chamber that displays these free-floating videos in mid-air.
mainly focusing for now on ad´s.

we are currently working an game we can project into free air , thats something you only have seen in the Movie´s , until now
be on watch , we might arrive near your town realy soon.

probably before next release of DS

ragg, I am extremely curious of how such a technology was achieved... care to explain in some more detail? The website doesn't explain any technicalities at all. I am looking for general theory here, I'm sure you can shine some light without revealing corporate secrets.

i'm a big fan of the books from Larry Niven.

and when there is one book that can be called a sci-fi must read, it's "The Mote in God's Eye" and the Sequel "The gripping Hand"

and of course other books like "Ringworld" and the sequels

Crashlander,
I loved those Books, but they are the Last in the Pournelle Universe, please tell me u read the others to

6 books, the warworld Series,

Faulkenburgs legion (many books) but I think stories are collected in "The Prince" should include "Prince of Mercenaries" Prince of Sparta" "Go tell the Spartans" etc.

King Davids spaceship is another, I could go on and on he wrote alot with Niven in this unverse as well

this is one of my favorite universes

we use a four-sided transparent pyramid .

The video images generated by the four projectors are re-assembled within the prism-like pyramid through a process of mirroring and reflection making them appear to float in mid-air.

pyramid can display both computer and film content when used either indoors or out and scale from 1.5-meters on up to 30-meters.

its all a trick with the eyes and depth perception.

thats pretty much how much im allowed to say.

you can get some more info by watching this where , Peter Simonsen (the inventor ) explains more on this.

no not yet..
the problem is: these books are extremly hard to get in germany.

i searched over a year for the gripping hand in german, but there were only ver few printed when it was released and the only option would have been to buy it from ebay. i ended up reading it in english.

and with the pournelle books it's the same

to be honest, the warworld series (6 Vol.) was a nightmare to find, even on ebay, and such, I ended up paying a steep price for one or 2 of them in english

Good luck finding them

the other I like is Steve White, he does sci-fi space combat the best I think, e'specially in the In Death Ground, and Shiva Option, and there are other books in the universe that ar just as good

I've been reading more manga lately [Bleach!!!], but I really liked:
As said before, the Ender's Game and following stories, I loved. Orsen Scott Card hit gold with this, an interesting story, likeable characters, etc. Read this!
I also liked anything written by Alastair Reynolds [the Chasm City trilogy and later books]
Charles Sheffield, Roger Mc-something [who wrote a trilogy with 'Ocean of Years', 'Shores of Time", and something else]
If you've played Halo, the Halo books are interesting too
