flux cannons, like flux waves and emp cannons damage systems, but are poor at shield/armor damage
gauss on the other hand is generally useless. it will damage hull, but only if shields/armor is down. i has a fixed range regardless of level (a little over 2kgu) and is faster than a pcannon/railgun, so its more accurate. but thats about its only upside

flux cannon can be quite crippling - alas in the age where hull can be chewed up so quickly, flux cannons are rarely used.

gauss do damage armour but you run out of ammunition way before you come close to hull. I put gauss on an ICC scout just for something to do and I think I took UGTO cruiser armour down about 10% if that much

i like flux cannons i, but i mostly only put em on my eads since there range is only 250, which is prefect for the ead defualt loadout is a close range set up
