You just gotta learn how to fight people point jumping you and how to point jump. Its all a part of combat skill you know...

There would be an easy fix to the jumping thing once a duel got past a cetain point and that is make it that ships that are dueling are to jettison their JD's prior to the duel starting. (Seeing that at least one of th ships won't be going back to the SY this shouldn't be problem. The winning player could always just log his/her ship and either scrap the ship or get another JD for the ship)

Also there is a game I play that has a key that can be pushed to request a duel with another player, would it be possible to have something like that on DS? (eg. You press button then input the name of the person you want to duel, they then either accept or decline the request)

To the death? Since when do all confrontations have to be to the death? Normal fighting allows people to e-jump, yet duels don't? Why is it an exploit in a duel but not in a normal combat situation?

Even if you still consider it an exploit to run away from a duel, you can't actually prove it was a duel and not just your average fight.

Meh. My computer won't let me play at all so these aren't my concerns. I just wanted to point out that this "to the death" rule you are trying to enforce makes no sense.

Because a Duel, in historic terms, is an honorable fight agreed on apon two parties. Not 'An enemy, Shoot em in the head!'. In a normal confrontation, either side would use what ever they can to win. In a duel, the both sides would use honorable means to fight. (No dirt in the eyes, flanking, things like that).

Well, you can. Because it isnt a duel unless both sides agree apon the rules and the fight itself. You cant just have one side go 'Its a duel!' and expect the other to automaticaly know..

In a duel, it does. Duels are, and will always, be ment to go to the death. Didnt we have some vice president get killed in a duel waaay back when? I was asleep in that history lesson..

There's no e-jumping, or jumping away in duels to prevent mutual prestige gain.
