Mary Poppins arrived quite late one evening at a country inn and was greeted by the night manager. While she was checking in she inquired if the dining room was still open as she was quite hungry.
The night manager said regretfully that the dining room was indeed closed, but she could choose something from the more limited room service menu.
Mary looked over the room service menu and notice that along with several light meals the menu also included breakfast items and inquired if she could order her breakfast in advance as she was leaving quite early in the morning.
The night manager said that he could, and took her order for Cauliflower au Gratin to be sent up right away, and Eggs Benedict to be sent up first thing in the morning, handed her the room key and wished her pleasant dreams.
The night manager was still on duty when Mary came back downstairs and he inquired if everything had been to her satisfaction.
Mary replied "The room was adequate and the Cauliflower au Gratin was quite possibly the best I've ever tasted. I was, however very disappointed in the eggs Benedict. The eggs themselves were solid and rubbery, the toast soggy, and the hollandaise sauce almost tasteless."
The night manager replied "I'm very sorry to hear that Miss Poppins, but if you would be so kind as to write your comments in the guest register I promise I will bring it to the owner's attention."
Mary complied, scribbling quite briefly in the guestbook, then headed on her way.
The night manager, wondering how she'd expressed the lengthy opinion so quickly in writing turned the book and read in precise handwriting "Super cauliflower-cheese but Eggs were quite atrocious"
