this particular downtime, as of about 15 minutes ago is due to a manual restart of the DB server by Faustus. There was a Broadcast in chat before he actually did it.

For some unknown reason, the MySQL service has been stopping/shutting down without being told to. As a result, nothing can access the database, so no-one can login, access the site, or even if we wanted to, login to the metaverse and play.
Faustus has set the service to auto-restart on failure, and restarted the service 15 minutes ago (like Drafell stated), so hopefully this should happen less.
