We are trying to shrink the MV over time to allow for more confrontation, as well as less load on the servers. While a large MV can be exciting in some respects, the distances required to travel across it are rather daunting, the number of objects high, and the ability to avoid enemy attacks too great. So we cut it down to a more manageable size.
I wouldn't expect it to return to anything near that size until there's a significant increase in server and player numbers.
