Is working great. Or seeming to be, atleast..

Just had a duel with Coombie, in which he whooped me, and I didnt experience any lag. No arc bug, or anything of the sort. Watching over chat and /send f, others ingame seemed to think that the server was running alot smoother.

So, give feedback on how you've found the MV to be running now.

No, I haven't yet...

I finished installing a new hardware firewall for DS... which seems to be helping with lag as well. This could be true, since all the servers are now using local IP addresses (192.168.X.X) range.

This would help a lot, since they don't need to refer to a remote DNS server for glocal IP addresses (if they were doing this before, it would add latency due to the responce time of external resources used to lookup the IP's and what not).

Well, they didn't do any of that before...

I'm betting that the firewall is keeping out fragmented packets and WORM attacks that were slowing down the internal network.

Anyway... I'm off to code on 484, wish me luck...

I'm enjoying it so far. Coombie and I spent about 1-2 hours trying to kill each other (Coombies up by 1 for now), and the combat was lag-free. Even when Coombies friend(s) came along to help out while I was p-cannoning his ship to snot, the game played smoothly.

Isn't it a slight irony that [LAG]LAG is commenting on lag? That's almost a toungue twister, lol.
