I found the Thermal Weather game VERY interesting, but I agree that you need to put the atmostpheric change to being more gradual. Also like in the Thermal game it would be good if you could put permanent hotspots, that you can see in Thermal view but are otherwise invisible.
And the same with cold spots too.
Also a note: Lightning doesn't seem to work with snow/rain on too like before, but the just lightning button seems to still work.

Of the three yellow buttons pretaining to lightning, to goes like this, from left to right:
Lightning OFF (when raining), Lightning ON (when raining), Lightning mode (lots of lightning with no rain).
regular lightning when it is raining comes much less often than in lightning mode. I just tested it and it seems to still work normally for me.
another note to myself: I need to work out hear rising rather than stagnating in the same place.

Some ideas:
Invisible hot/cold spots definately.
Make it so grass dies when the area around it is too cold.
Make it so dead grass turns green after a while when the area round it is warm.
Make it so that things such as walls and metal 'absorb' heat.
So small ideas.

ok. one final time before i start adding more elaborate things. The basic game is done, and I separated the unresponisive buttons into 2 buttons. Now rather than ON/OFF buttons, there is an ON button and and OFF button. I have also added Ice to act like an opposition to Fire.
Thermal Weather v2.2
*Consister this the last one I will post, since I see the game as complete. If i even come up with something that radically changes the game, Ill make a new post for it.* Suggestions are still welcome. I am still thinking over the invisible hot/cold spots.*
P.S. Dead plant will return to life when provided with water AND water is dominant on the map as a whole. It will not when Snow is more common than water. Plant will also die if it becomes too hot. you want plant? hit that thermal window.
Also, if the snow starts to freeze along the cloud-line. just sweep the fire across there for a sec. it will fix it.

Kan, sounds similar to some modeling programs i've seen that simulate real life conditions. Considered that yet? Even though it may be a game now, the application end may be something to look into? Praxis is a program that models geometric shifts (if you didn't already know..). It is a very high dollar service provided by Civil Engineering firms.

ok. Really the last time I am posting this.
Thermal Weather v2.3
And Ent, since you are so determined to see it. Ill work on adding permanent invisible hot and cold spots. It may take me a few days to work out how to make it be invisible and not have falling particles (like water and snow) end up going AROUND it instead of thru it.

virtually none from v2.2 to v2.3
There was a calculation error for heat diffusion on the bottom row of air before the ground that i fixed and I doubled the number of colors on thermal cam, to better show variations in temperature. Thats about it.

Well you could make the hot/cold spots act like they do in the original Thermal game, a seperate Fire/Ice button that dissapates normally but on the thermal screen that area would continue to be hot/cold.

Here is the first attempt at permanent invisible heat/cold. Got the permanent down. The invisible part will have to wait until I figure that part out.

UPDATE: With all the spare time I have being unable to play DS this summer, I have begun tinkering with this game again. I have done a couple of funtional things and a couple of 'wouldnt it be cool' things so far. The two functional things is markers on the buttons so you can see what the brushsize and particle type are set to, and I have added a MUCH larger brush size (the old largest was size 7. This new one is size 21, i think.)
The fun things I have added are secret devices. Specific arrangements of certain types of particles yields reactive results. So far I have made a bomb and a shield generator for blocking lightning. I plan to add more secret devices over the week.
If anyone shows an interest in the upgraded game, I'll post a new version on Friday.
