Opening wormhole
begin transmission to parallel universe
Using standard UGTO Cypher

TO: Naval Inteligence
United Galactic Trade Organisation
Universe Darkspace North America

FR: Adm. Gunichi Mikawa, RN
Aboard the Agincourt Carrier UWS Adriene Maersk
Chief of Admiralty General Staff
United Galactic Trade Organisation
Universe Darkspace Asia

Subject: Parallel Universe Collapse

Dearest friends:

this is probably the last transmission we will be able to send you.

Darkspace asia is no longer operating. there are no more interstellar battles to win, no more planets to capture, no more empires to forge. the end has finally come for us. We now stand 2 years past the midpoint of the years that has witnessed four major wars among great nations. Three of these involved our own country. Despite these holocausts UGTO is today the strongest, the most influential and most productive nation in the Universe. Understandably proud of this pre-eminence, we yet realize that UGTO's leadership and prestige depend, not merely upon our unmatched material progress, riches and military strength, but on how we use our power in the interests of peace and human betterment.

we, your asian contemporaries, ahve lost sight of that. we scheemed, to forge the greatest empire in our universe, driving all those who stood against us. and in this quest for power, we have destroyed the very thing we sought to achieve.

i our quest to win wars we drove other people out of the game, we exploited every loophole imagnable, resorting to technicalities to almost everything from alliances to treaties. we forgot the essence of the game. w became too politcal.

through this, we became the most powerful nation in the known universe. but the vicotry is a hollow one. what is a ruler if he has no subjects. no one played anymore because no one can oppose us. the game shrivelled and died.

now we realise our mistake, but it is too late. PAGN has decided nt to host darkspace asia anymore and pagn itself closed.

may none of you repeat our mistakes and doom this universe to suffer the same fate we did. you are the only darkspace server left in the world. do not take to the road we made.

It is a painful thing for me to see our universe die. may none of you ever have to suffer as I am right now.

Long live Darkspace!

Adm. Gunichi Mikawa

A company (can't remember) purchase PaGN, and only PaGN was licenced to run DarkSpace, so the new company doesn't have the right's to run it anymore.

It's a shame, but all the more players for us o/.

Oh boy. Players in asia trying not to lag with servers in Texas! I am in America with Cable internet and cant stop lagging some times. Asian players would be faced with something on the order of at least 500 to 1000 ms pings at best. I welcome them if they can tolerate it, but i doubt most will.

I admire such candor. It takes a lot to own up to your own mistakes like that, and for that I salute you.
