one thing i never liked about starcraft was the unit scaling, they had vechicles bigger than the infrantry, but when it came to ships, they were like a station compared to luna!

Sometimes I think you guys forget that these games are all about fun. At the end of the day, you can compare any game against another by simply measuring the size of your smile after you've finished playing.

i say all games are diferent.
and even those RPG and RTS are only clasifications about that kind of games the represent.
Don't compair games. just do one of the following.
Play it.
Rate it.
Hate it.
Curse it.
Love it.
Burn it.
Buy it.
or leave it alone.
to me all games that i haven't played yet i leave alone.
[partialy on topic]
I personaly loved TA and even all of little and big mods it had.
But when i look at SupCom it looks nice, story line is totaly wicked. however its missing somthing.
but when i think about what bobamelius said.

the traditional RTS games are not the definition of what a RTS game should be.
technology evolves so wil the games.
people wil ask for more the wil get more.
o and we can say "if you don't like lock your room and play with your comadore 64."
thats the wrong attitude, we just need to hamer the game industries more to make us a other game that we wil like .

There needs to be a Half Life of the RTS genre. I think SupCom is more of the iD of the RTS world. Now all we need is someone to just raise the bar so far above everything else, that everyone else will need to raise their bar to compete.
It happened with FPS 9 years ago with Half Life.
It happened with MMO's 2 years ago with WoW.
I really do think that there needs to be just a major blow to the RTS genre in general. Something that makes people go "Holy cow, we need to do that, but better!".

Half Life rts...HEADCRAB WORKERS! In all seriousness, I like RTS how they are. I'd prefer if they went the CoH route which required a bit more thinking though. The system in that was good, and would be nice with bigger battles. Of course, then you would need alot of micro to keep up with it.

All I can say about StarCraft II is this:
ITS ABOUT TIME!
Thats out of my system now. Only heard about SC2 the other day...and to say the least I look forward with GREAT anticipation. Starcraft has been one of my favorite games of all time, and I can that I'm impossibly sure that there are many LEGIONS of other players who cant wait for this game to come out. Yet another item my recent purchase of a better computer...if not exctly in the way I planned... but one anyway...should have little to no difficulty managing.
