I used to play DS way back in 2003 and I thought I'd get back into it again but I cant login as my old username ( Binky ).
Its possible that I have the password wrong, but as the ISP I used at the time is now out of business, I cant get my password sent to the email addy I had.
But I started this new account and tried to find my old username with the Find Users thingy, if only to see what stats Im missing out on ( I was a Vice Admiral, from memory:)), only to find that dear old Binky seems to not exist at all.
I can find my old fleet-mates, from the legendary Hoid o' Toitles (All hail the Hoid!), just not my own account.
I did find a refence to it here: http://www.darkspace.net/index.htm?module=forums.php&page=/viewtopic.php?topic=18370&forum=23&14 but thats about the only evidence that I ever existed.
And I cant seem to find the Hoid as a fleet either... *sobs like a baby*
Anyone have some ideas about how to find poor ol' Binky?

Faustus changed the system in 2004, so that if you didn't verify your email address when you made the account, then it would of been deleted. It seems you got caught before this change, and because you didn't login for a certain amount of time, your account was deleted.
Having said that though, you could of changed your name before you left. In doing so, "Blinky", won't show up on the list, but the first login you registered for the account will still work (for example : account2007 or whatever).

Ah ok. So "Binky" is dead and gone... *sob* the poor, poor man. And he was so young and handsome!

It might not be gone. I'd suggest finding an admin in the lobby (Shigernafy or Doran), or finding a mod so that they can contact an admin (Drafell). They'll be able to help you out more.

going thru my logs i have a Jar Jar Binks @23727 from 11/22/04, Binks @87406 from 10/10/04, theres a couple binkys with the toitles tag from 2003, but none have an attached user id

I move around a lot with work, and I usually have to change ISP's, and as a result, email address's too.
I think my old addy was binky@lexicon.net. It may have been binky@dot.net.au, but I think the former. Im unsure, as I have had 7 different ISP's since 2001...
Unfortunately, both of the above ISP's have gone belly-up, so I have no way to check.

But I suppose that without the user id, not much can be done?
