I got to thinking about cloaks and beacons. What if every time a beacon hit a Kluth ship and the cloak was on it would drain more energy to try to cover up the larger signature. What do you guys think?

that is what it used to do, but it was like that for ECCM. the more ECCM around, the more energy it used.

Because it WASN'T a good idea. This was back in the days when Kluth didn't even have armor.

Yeah. Take a moment to digest that one.

It pretty much rendered cloak useless. Even one ECCM would disable a Kluth fairly quickly, and you could even pass by planets too close or it sucked you dry in an instant.

The idea of beacons doing this is a little bit better, but I can just see it encouraging spamming because throw a ton on there and the energy would be gone faster than a Kluth can decloak.

I'm more partial to the idea that beacons simply make it so that it takes longer and much more energy for a Kluth to cloak the more beacons it has.
