i have a couple ideas for ICC. first off:
Ion Pulse cannons. i heard about them, and they were for ICC. what i suggest is bringing those back, but putting energy drain on them, no ammo, less damage than the Particle cannon, more damage than Railgun, less range than the Railgun, same projectile speed as Particle cannon. the energy drain should be moderate, and if you go 3/4 speed, should provide slow energy drain, requiring you to slow down to at least half speed if you use them for no energy drain.
Solar Panel armor. this mod puts solar panels on your ship for armor, which has less HP than standard armor, but allows additional energy recharge for your ship, as long as you are relatively near a sun(have light shining on you from a star). solar panel armor should be about Kluth armor(ralative to ship class), and provide energy recharge the same as an Auxiliary Generator. provides no additional recharge time to shields, they recharge at the same rate as if you had standard armor.
so, how about it? good ideas?
EDIT: can we have cooler shield flares please? like...bigger ones?

in a thread about getting player events posted on the Upcoming Events box, in the section about example fictional posts:
... [UGTO] notes that his ship has solar capacitance shielding and thus will never stray more than 250,000 gu from a sun, ...
!!
I rest my case.

that was from an event you made up, that aint even real or happening.
see...my solar panel armor provides power only, not radiation shielding. <.=.<

Armor provides radiation shielding. Any space born vessel needs radiation shielding from various x, y, z, gamma beta and any other wavelength waves that travel through the universe. Our earth has an ozone layer, most space vessels have layers of hardended armor.

i see that, but as you said, ANY armor provides radiation shielding, it's in it's nature. my armor does not provide any EXTRA radiation shielding like that generator of yours does.

since most ICC vessels do not imploy standard issue armor, the shielding itself needs to provide radiation shielding.
more then likely such things are built into the hull for emergency use, but day to day workings would rely uppon armor/shields.

I meant to say x,y,z rays in an obvious pun, but I forget the word rays.
At least somebody read that incoherent babble.
