Interdicters are part of the game get used to it if they wern't allowed they wouldn't been there

I got a few points WHY i use a interdicter
1) Its the first cruiser you can use
2) So they can't run im tired that ICC runs with 50% shield and ugto with 50% armor
3)Getting kills how can you kill when they jump always, and you can't rank then cause there still in 50% Shield or Armor

If you can argue with ALL of those points and give at least a few reasens why not i will lay down with the dictor.
(ofc reasens like 'Its lame' and 'No chance of surviving' don't count for the reasen send help out to your mates if your against dictor alone)

dictors are good, useful components of the game. They just have to be used with... how do you say it.... caution? They can be the turning point of a close battle and all that good stuff. They are GREAT for killing mirving bombers (remember the good times, SA?). However, if your fleet already outnumbers the enemy 2-1, and you dictor at that point, its is more likely that you will put the final nail in the coffin, resulting in the enemy just logging and everyone being bored.

Just be careful not to KILL all the action by arriving in a dictor. Other than that, I have no problems with dictors.

At the time i used it it was like 4 EDs and me vs 5 Stations , 1 tc and a assault corvett

We almost had 1 station down and i needed to jump(55% hul and QST coming)

and they were all spamming go away,don't dictor,move the lame dictor away , etc

The problem with interdictors is that it makes the battle very boring and tedious.Once you die you don't want to go back to trying to kill a dictor. It's very annoying and runs people off.

hm...you know, I could make a helpful comment about how people should learn to play with dictors using fleet tatics.

then I realized half the player base doesn't really care and finds everything they're not driving unbalanced.

KAnman has already given the main reasons why there use in combat is a bad idea but let me add a few more.

1) as a combat ship it sucks - I know its the first cruiser you can get and fair play to you for not getting an ED BUT - it will be the target of everyone on the other side so you run a greater chance of dieing. They are also no more powerful than a dessy so if you want a combat ship - get the dessy - if you need a specialist ship that is;t so powerful but will allow you to kill then get the dictor.

2) In previous versions you could get prestige in combat. Now - because you only get pres for hull damage and hulls get eaten so quickly (not counting lag, unbalanced ships etc) it is very hard to get combat - therefore people are much more cautiousand will jump away. If the ysee a dictor they wil be more risk averse and just wont come out to play.

3) if the fleets are balanced and you geta dictor - the other side will probably get one and will kill you. If your side outnumber the enemy they will just log - People don;t mind hit and run and will play H&R against a larger enemy. get a dictor and it becomes Hit and die. so whats the point.

4) dieing is a real pain in this game. It can take an hour to mod a dread by the time you've switched to an unfleeted alt a/c - got the parts you need - dropped them at your SY - spawnd the ship - modded - logged and are ready to play. It will also have 300 pres Don't expect people to be pleased that you cost them 3-4 days of combat prestige by wanting to use your dictor.

5) People play the game for FUN. They pay $10 a month to enjoy themselves. Dieing and modding isn;t fun. Losing pres isn;t fun - They stop enjoying themselves - they stop playing and paying. Look at the player base now. DS doesn;t make money but covers it's costs. If you launch a one man mission to dictor kill every player you see then combat becomes less - people have less fun - some stop paying. Too many stop and F pulls the plug - why should he pay to run the servers , hire the bandwidth etc

So in summary then - they are a part of the game and useful in the right place but because of the fact that they only exist to make you die and lose pres you will be hated for using it. Just as people have to deal with the fact that you use a Dictor to get the kill - you have to deal with the fact that people will hate that and will react.

If you don;t like that - don't spawn the dictor.

Using dictors at the right time = great.

Using them in situations where there's only 1-3 enemy pilots, and several of you = not great.

lemme add one more

Using Dictors to exploit the players whining and logging off JUST so you can take the system with ease=not good

in essence you're exploiting the game somewhat XD

well wolfie, easy takling, not evryone do run at 50% shield/armor, some actuly got the guts to take some hull damage before runing. even if some wimps run at 50% dosnt mean that evryone does it...and thats where u go wrong. what happends when u dictor someone who actuly got the guts to take hull damage?...=?

btw, use your skills to track down those jumpers and finish them off.
I dont need dictor to kill someone. I just track as long as i can and hit them also...
Everything isnt behind Dictors.

Not to mention you will be called dictor newb, oh look theirs that dumb newb, people will hate your guts for reasons already stated.To finish it off dictors really make people mad take today for instance it was a good battle till someone brought out a dictor and then people started dieing and who wants to mod again and then wait for a wh or use jgs so everyone logged out.

Ok, so I haven't played much since the metaverse went live, but it sounds to me like the problem isn't the dictors (which have been part of the game forever) but the process of modding. And maybe other issues with the cost of death.

Nobody likes doing it, so when they have too, they log out. Some of us (yeah, me) hate it to the point of not playing in the first place because everyone else mods and I refuse to because it's a pain. Yeah, I miss the huge FA battles. Sue me.

to me, modding was never worth the trouble. It makes people run from battle, hide instead of fight, etc. The end result? A lot of running away and this made many players leave. Skilled players may have stuck around for a while, (some of them feeling like it was their duty to do so) but many of them are gone.

I have waited and watched this game since beta. I've played from time to time. The problems with this game were created by whiners. Whiners that wanted what they wanted without understanding what made DS great.
