ok but i have auto update of. i am not crazy and the update isn't installed on this pc. so i dont get how this is possible

I hate to say it, but it's Vista 4tw around these parts 
...at least i haven't had any problems with it yet, connected, updated, played, was all ok.

Alas, I needed to power my computer down due to... well... that's irrelevant. The point is that the stupid update took effect. And, although I was hoping my Dell would work magic and get me into the lobby, such proved itself to be untrue.
Of course, I have the option to uninstall the update. However, removing the update would be useless even if it did succeed - the University's network agent would disable me from getting online due to their damn requirement for "critical system updates and patches" - this includes IE crap.
Obviously, the difficulty of this situation has been noted. In multiple threads. You could make the argument that, well, life's not fair, and hahalolsuckstobeyouGrim. I've got forty days on my subscription, and it'll be interesting for me to see if this problem is resolved before my days wear off.
I'm not saying that I expected magic and the resolution of this problem immediately. But I believe that preventing players from playing is pretty serious. I certainly will not continue to pay money for a game whose lobby I can't even log into.
This is just me whining, of course. Then again, that's nothing new for DarkSpace, now, is it?
*insert sympathy for Leonide and the rest of the folks who can no longer play DarkSpace here*

This isnt a problem for me, since I always select my windows updates.
BUT this can be a problem for new players, and I think this bug has to be fixed ASAP.
New players are lazy, there looking for a fun game to play, and they find darkspace.
The register, download the lobby and darkspace, installs it, and trys to start it: Crash.
New player tought: What is this????!??
Uninstall, bb darkspace, Most of em wont even think of lookin in the forum.
But thats just my 2 cents.
