unless the baby step you are refering to is part of such a large problem its almost impossible to "hot fix" the idea/solution might sound simple but implimentation of said solution is a whole different matter.

Accept what you're saying axi but when you look at the complants re 483 the big ones are
Lag
EDs / PDs
Mirving
a lot of lag is graphic lag imho. so as baby steps,
reduce the amount of missiles being fired by missile ships and def bases - increase beams.
stop being able to switch scl for particle cannon etc. and tie max upgrades to ship class - it already works for guns why not armour,
clamp damage radius on bombs to a set figure.
for many people, a 484 like that 6m ago (afte testing) would have been fine. the rest of the time could have been spend on 485 better balancing the ships.
