And here I am, only just starting to learn to play...

Doubt I will ever get to your level.

Nonesense.

My friend Mike, who is by far the best guitarist I've ever heard play (no offense Spaiv =P) taught himself over the summer.

And you're probably smarter then him too.

No offense taken Crim, everyone has a friend who is the best guitarist they have ever heard play.

Drafell, It is not difficult to learn if you put time and dedication in. I have taught hundreds of people to play, several of which went on to play in professional bands.

At first it does seem a little overwhelming. I learned most of what I actually know in my first couple of year, then sepnt the next 20 just honing my skills. I would say after around 5 years or so there was nothing any guitar player on the planet could do that I could not duplicate if I put some time into it.

I believe it works the same for most people, I believe anyone can attain any level of playing ability if they work at it. Some folks have stronger aptitudes towards music and learn more quickly than others, but all in all, barring physical disabilities, with proper study and practice abits in much shorter time than you think you can achieve whatever you set out to do.

From one musician to another, excellent blues jam. Liked the sustain but you might want to tone down the reverb. Maybe it's just the sound system on my computer. Anyway, I play all original R&R music, started in "76". My lead style is similar to Joe Perry of Areosmith, my rhythm is a cross between Journey and Scorpions and I use Van Halen effects. People who hear my music say it's like classic rock of the 70's and 80's, only new. I reaally didn't mean to get off track but when it comes to music, I kinda get carried away, if you know what I mean. Still, I enjoyed it very much. Keep on rockin'.
