Well as I surfed through the IMDB (Internet Movie Database) I found this little tidbit of a movie...

Seems the Halo Movie is scheduled to be released sometime in 2009. It will be based on the original Halo game....

I saw an Unofficial Trailor for it and it looked good... I also saw a vid claiming to be the first 8 min of the movie...

It is being released by Twentieth Century-Fox, and seems to be really good from the first 8 min. If this is a fake then its the best darn fake I have ever seen!

I am looking forward to it since I have pounded the original Halo into the ground so many times...

Now they just need to make a movie about Counterstrike.... oh wait... they don't need to ... its on the news everynight... live from Iraq....

Not this again...

There is no Halo movie... Those "First 8 minutes" is actually the Halo 3 game opening sequence. A production company in New Zealand even made one Warthog jeep for use in the movie, just a quick google will show you all the information.

The Halo movie was suppose to be released at the same time as the Halo 3 game. But after three scripts and tons of arguements over distribution rights the project was scuttled. Officially its listed as "On hold", but in actuallity its dead.

Peter Jackson has production rights but the Director he tried to commision to work on the film turned it down to work on Hellboy 2.

Also, no one will front the money to produce the movie. Microsoft refuses even though they own the brand name and it would have helped their game sales because they didnt want to get mired down should it flop. Basically they wanted the studios to take all the risk but then demanded to much in the way of merchandising and licensing fees from the studios. This made the project economically unrealistic. The response from the studios is why should we burden all the risk while Microsoft takes the majority of the profits?

Microsofts own greed killed this movie. Its been over 3 years of delays so far. One of the script rewrites were because Microsoft didnt like the story line, even though it followed the original game.

Dont expect to see this movie anytime in the near future if ever.
