I thought it was boring, slow, predictable and indictable of jingoism. The jokes are simply not funny.

Nearly as bad as the 2nd Fantastic 4.

The only 3 good things of the movie are:
1) The Audi.
2) Robert Downey Jr.
3) Leslie Bibb.

I am tired of seeing superheroes falling from 500 feet and not getting hurt, cinema should be a reproduction of reality, not a reproduction of impossibility.

and all of a sudden...musiq was made of fail!

...i have yet to see this movie, but i will see it now. good to know it rules!

You'd be thoroughly surprised by the falls the human body is capable of surviving. A (guessed) five hundred foot fall into the sand while wearing padded powered armor is nothing compared to surviving a fall from 33,000 feet without a parachute. Not that 33,000 is any more dangerous than 20,000, what with terminal velocity...

Lol, if it's reality your looking for, you ain't gonna find it in the theaters... People go to the theaters to see fantasy....be it love, action, romance, history or what ever....that's pretty much the whole point in a movie theater....

Sure, let's see Cinema that way. A void machine conceived and created for a sole purpose: revenues.
It can be applied to many other fields, tv for example.

Quoting a great movie:

"Would anything happen...other than a few million people would
have received a little illumination......on subjects that may well determine
the future of this country...and therefore the future
of the corporations?
To those who say, "People wouldn't
look, they wouldn't be interested..."
"...they're too complacent,
indifferent and insulated"...
...I can only reply: There is,
in one reporter's opinion...
...considerable evidence
against that contention.

But even if they are right,
what have they got to lose?
Because if they are right...
...and this instrument
is good for nothing...
...but to entertain,
amuse and insulate...
...then the tube is flickering now...
...and we will soon see
that the whole struggle is lost.

This instrument can teach.
It can illuminate
and it can even inspire.
But it can do so only to the extent
that humans are determined to use it...
...towards those ends.

Otherwise,
it is merely wiresand lights...
...in a box."

Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the fun of "pop-corn" movies, and I do recognize their economical importance, (smash hits allow minor productions to exist).
But if you overrate these movies then you tend to supersede the importance of what's the fulcrum of a good movie: its script.
And it is for that very reason why certain box office hits are still considered great movies altough action-adventure-science fiction films.
Take Star wars, Indiana Jones, or the Matrix, their force doesn't only lie on the technical aspects but also on the force of its narration.
If you overestimate these mediocre movies, you supplant the rightful genius in the history of cinema, Kubrick, Chaplin, Leone, Lang, the neo-realists or the new wave.

My point is, stick it to the story and don't let yourself be dazzled by the glitter.

Tael: Chuck Norris couldn't beat himself to death with numb-chucks (lol) if he tried! He'd have better luck trying to sell blenders used on some fad diet.

Now the Iron-Man movie:
It was decent. I give it a B+. Nice mixture of special effects, but not excessive. Worth watching!
