Confurmed I have seen it with my own eyes.
The Cheese Cannon™ was tested by an Unknown Member of the ICC high command
The Cheese Cannon™ Launches a high velocity Cheese Projectile
that tears thru SubSpace emmitting a high power EMP.
When the target is hit by the Projectile the Cheese covers the ship disabling weapons with the creamcheese outercore and then the solid Chedder Core clogs the Engines disabling sublight and the jumpdrive
it renders the ship innert where it can then be captured cleaned and stripped of its technology to be sent to our reverse engineering specialists on Exathra.

A cheese cannon? Who in there right mind would use something like Cheese as a weapon?
While we have worked on similar ideas, the failed emp beam, we wouldnt use our favored export as a weapon.

Seems to me that to destroy a couple of drones over just a "supply" ship makes me think that there is more here than meets the eye.
Maybe a Covert Opps mission should be launched by another faction to investigate this.

I bet you have never seen the destructive and acidic properties, when some one has opened a six year old sealed canester of "Jong Belegen Edammer keze" ?
Those have been known to cripple transports dead in space, think what it can do to UGTO Dreadnoughts when fired in numbers.
