With all those angles and sharp corners is it maybe a 'stealth' vessle?

Same reason as that for stealth craft today in atmospheric conditions... sharp-edged models allow the designer to predict the direction to which the radar (or some other sensor) waves get bounced... and bounce it somewhere other than the direction of source.
As for the design... looks good but I don't see a good reason for making that tail stick upwards like that. Also those fins in the mid section make it more of a kluth ship than UGTO... straighten the tail and get rid of the fins and you've got a nice model
