Looking for other K'luth that want to coop in mv with =Wolf= squadron. We have a room setup that we can use.
Go here to download XFire:
http://www.xfire.com/downloads/
In the main XFire panel, go to tools and set up a *push to talk* button, and don't forget to check the box to enable the "push to talk" option.
On the chatroom tab above, go to tools>chatrooms>Go to Chatroom. (I am using the NVidia skin) A box will pop up. In the box, type in "wolf public channel". This will send you into our public channel, which is unpassworded. Voice is enabled and it will ask if you wish to enable it for yourself. Just say yes. It doesn't matter if you have a mic or not, you can still hear us.
Once in the chat room, at the top, click actions. In the dropdown menu, select save. Now when you log onto XFire, you can look on the chat room tab, and the chatroom should be there. You are free to join at anytime. The server is always up, as it is run by XFire.
It also keeps track of games you play, like WoW, SWG, etc. If it is integrated with the game, there are some really cool options you can use, and names show up in the game to show who is talking, etc. On some games, you can select to join a server that a friend is on, before you even load the game, and it will start the game and join you to that server. It's a pretty cool little VOIP.
And, for the record, I would love to see Palestar get together with Xfire. There are alot of cool features that could help with fleets and DS in the MV. What would the chance be of ya'll workin' out a deal?

Updated the information to make it current and a little more explanitory.
Maybe the ICC and UGTO should get a server up.

I think Darkspace has been trying to get Xfire to work with us, but it hasn't happend so far. One day!

well, maybe darkspace should look else where like with the makers of ventrillo? (the voice comms of preferance for games like EvE and WoW)
or... i shudder to say this, even the makers of teamspeak?

DSCW has hosted a vent. server for a while now. Link at the top of the DS English forums titled " Public Ventrilo Server". For the lazy here's a link.

it sure has.
note the key word that u said... Public. that vent is for chatting and BS.
u want tactical comms, u dont use public stuff.
Edit: which is also why the fleet has a private vent server

We still use this, so if any of you 'luthies are interested, you can still join the server.
We had a few new kluths join, who didn't know we used it, so that is why I am reviving the thread.
