Tagging platforms and coordinates
This is essentially being able to name ships or saved coordinates for fellow pilots on the same faction to use.

Pros:
1. Allows teamates to more easily coordinate fleet movements by establishing rendevous points and painting enemy locations.
2. Adds a bit of a roleplay to the game and may streamline certain events(i.e. races, tournaments, ect).
3. Should be easy to implement.
4. Improved overall communication(i.e denoting a supply point or minefield)
5. Would enable a quasi Automated resupply sytem(will be discussed later in post).

Cons:
1. Immature players may tag said platforms or coordinates with RoC violating names.
-This can be prevented by :
a. Having tags go through Mods before going into effect(tedious)
b. Apply a censor that prevents lewd words from being used(people can find ways around it)
c. Have a rigid naming system with menus for each word(boring and tedious)

2. Said immature players can make disturbing images with coordinates (you can already do tihs with platforms anyways).
-This can be prevented in many ways, but just to list two:
a. Limit the ammount of coordinates according to rank (i.e 1 for cadets, 10 for GAs)
b. Make the client able to choose which coordinates to keep and which to delete

3. Too many coordinates will create a hassle.
-This problem goes with #2 and can be easily prevented with solution b.

4. Players may argue and repeatedly change designations for their own pleasure.
-As we all know darkspace has a very mature playerbase; that being said:
a. allow the fleet of the builder to lock a platform name (similar to planets)
b. In a similar manner, keep coordinates with their original names designated by the creator OR allow each client to name the coordinates for themselves.

Quasi Automated Resupply System
This is alot simpler than it may sound. Essentially, it is just taking the same system used by AI and Player ships to send "Alerts" and applying them to platforms. This is where tagging comes in; when a said platform reaches a predetermined resource level, it broadcasts an alert with both the name and system (i.e ICC Weapons platform IV in Sol is low on resource!).

Pros:
1. Maintaining platforms is less of a hassle
2. Why the hell not?

Cons:
1. Alerts may become annoying.
- Easily fixed by:
a. Creating "channels" that players can patch in to (i.e AI distress channel, Resupply Channel, Player distress Channel, ect)
b. Making the alerts only available in supply and transport class ships.

2. You dont gain prestige for resupplying platforms with resource
-not sure if this is a con but 1 or 2 prestige per x ammount of resource resupplied would be nice

3. Alerts may become annoying.
-again, this would be counterproductive if it isnt controlled

Renaming the Marksman Badge
Well, I cant really see how sniping correlates to kills in darkspace, BUT I dont have any alternatives, so I'm just throwing this out for discussion.

So yeah, these may not be necessary, but they would be nice; especially for events, but then again I'm not familiar with the Admin's options for modification in-game.

Comments and Criticism are welcomed

Have set targetting parameters.

Advance
Retreat
Go Here
Formation Here

Instead of letting people type the commands.

Don't like the need more resources alerts, but if that were to be implemented, have it so anyone within 3000gu (Short Range Communications Range) recieve the alerts.

hmmmm, 3000 kinda negates the purpose doesnt it? The idea was for a special "channel" for resource runners specifically. Good thoughts on the preset commands though, although I'd like to see more variety.
