I note that K'luth players are complaining that this bug is increasing their vulnerability thanks to increased visible time. However, in actual fact, since other clients need to recieve information from the servers, from their point of view you're invisible during the delay, since the server still thinks you're invisible and therefore tells their clients that you're invisible. So the delay not only affects when you can fire, but also when you decloak.

It's the same with point-jumping. The server thinks you're still in jump, so other ships can't target or react to you until it gets updated, which as it happens is also the period during which your weapons won't do any damage.

So it's annoying, yes, but it's less of a problem than you might think, because everything is being delayed by that amount of time, including when you become a valid target. Mostly, anyway. I don't pretend that I know the precise workings of the server, so this is a logical guess anyway.
