Yea, back when I made these it was important that they had negatives, but I can re-do a few, and add some more ideas I've had aswell, I'll make my own topic about them though

increasing the drop rate or appearance of elites would be a good start. The last few times i've been on rogens not even seen an elite - let alone had a drop of something good.
Would be good to see the elites perhaps leading a squadron of pirates but truong to get rare enhancements id justa grind now.
Take away the fun and people log off sooner.
More people log off and less chance of PvP

I think there should be a just a defenes enhancement. Something to the effect of increases defenses by 5, 10, 15% for the different classes of enhancements. I think it would be easier then having a sheild and an armor enhancement because the armor one drops more often and is not as useful to ICC as it is to UTGO and K'Luth. There could also be an energy reduction enhancement also, decreases energy uses for all weapons and armor but drops max ship speed by the same % of energy reduction. Just a thought.

I am working on a new proposal for enhancement levels to make them all 'fair' and useful, as 1% for anything is pretty pointless.
I can't say any more until we have a development meeting.
There are also already a whole bunch of other enhancement types that I would like to add. We just need Maverick back in the picture.

i would also like to propose to limit 1 type of each enchancement per ship
so that we can avoid having 8 armor upgrades for example

alternatively, have negative effects for each enhancement (sacrafice speed for armor ect ect ect)

I would rather the removal, or a time limit on enhancements.

This isn't a very bad idea, even if the time limit was a few days or something...
It sure beats my idea of a monthly garage whipe, but has the same purpose.

I was thinking more of a few minutes time limit, and a recharge time of half an hour or something - it may be a long wait for one enhancement, but it will be worth it when you by all technical means outgun, manuvere and armour the enemy.

I see a problem with limiting the number of types you can have, if you do then why not get rid of them all together because then the ships are going to be pretty much the same again with one armor, speed, weapon and everything else then the ship are not different at all. They will be the same as before they put enhancements in the game. If you are going to limit it then it should be something like no more then 50% of the slots can be one single type to prevent a UTGO ship with 8 full armor slots and a literal tank that cannot be killed.
I do like the idea of a negative effect for certain enhancements like more armor/less speed. It just makes sense IMO, and it would make it agree more with physics, more weight=less speed or less acceleration.

I just enhancements to be lost when your ship dies, that will add a portion of risk to putting all your eggs in one basket

That's an intended feature, they just either haven't yet added it, or they haven't added it correctly

I do not like the idea of losing an enhancemnet if you ship gets destroyed. Why should I be penalised for getting jumped by a player Dread or and AI Dread while I'm retreating to recoup and lose the enhancements I have on the ship. If this gets implemented its going to neuter PVP even more because people arent going to want to fight if there is a chance they will lose their upgrades that they spent the last 2 weeks building up.

PENALTIES FOR LOSING A SHIP?!?!?! THAT'S PREPOSTEROUS!!!!
It seems you are on about something else than losing enhanements for dying....
Losing enhanements for losing a ship makes perfect sense...
Either way the intent of the feature is to have a mere CHANCE of losing them upon destruction, and it is already planned by the dev(Maverick) working on enhanements, afaik. As you know, when a darkspace dev makes a decision it's in stone and cannot be challanged! [ This Message was edited by: JBud on 2009-05-12 10:19 ]
