Royal Rumble.
May 17th, 2009 at 1400hr Mountain time. To be held in beta server.
OK this is really simple, all the contestants in the class enter the ring and wait for the signal to start. Last contestant standing wins the match.
The ring will be 1000gu's from the centre out, same ring as used in the last event.
1.You can enter into each match up to the rank requirement of that class, if you have the rank. The 6 classes will be, Scouts, Frigates, Destroyers, Cruisers, Dreads and Stations. You can join into all 6 matches if you have the rank to do so. The more matches that you enter the more chances you have to win.
2.Every one in the match will gate into the ring. Ships will be out of the box (SY spawn, as is) The ships are as follows for each class.
Scout UGTO Attack Corvette
Frigate ICC Assault Frigate
Destroyer K'luth Claw
Cruiser UGTO Battle Cruiser
Dreadnought K'luth Mandible
Station ICC Support Station
The Prizes are as follows. For each match the winner will receive
a minimum of 500 prez.
For the Higher ranking players it will equal 2% of your next rank.
So if you are a Fleet Admiral you would receive 1638 in prez,
Marshal would receive 6554 in prez.
For each additional class you win you will receive 7 days play
time, and 2 enhancements.
The Rules are:
If you come out of the ring you will have been deemed to have
been destroyed. You will stop firing and move at least 250 gu's
from the edge of the ring.
You may chose to at this time to re log and get your next class
ship or stay and watch. Last contestant alive wins the prize for
that class.
If you chose to log and get your next ship or are destroyed and
re spawn you will have to long jump in to the viewing area.
DO NOT USE THE GATE SYSTEM TO GET BACK TO THE VIEWING AREA
This event is open to every one. So sign up and lets get ready to Rumble.

please, Please, PLEASE, be more specific; communication is the most essential part of hosting an event; even if you think it is self explantory-EXPLAIN IT, if it seems like common sense, include it; assume nothing. That being said, how big is the ring? What server? Do you need moderator assistance? Have you gotten the prizes approved, how will the matches be organized? ect ect ect. Best of luck on your event, but remember; events take more time and effort than you might think. Follow up on it and you -might- have a sucess; neglect it and it will likely fail.

He said in the post, ring is 1000gu from the center out, which to me means a 2000gu diameter ring.

Prizes are approved; we've been talking about the event for about a week now and I finally had enough free time to be on long enough to bump into him. Once we got the last minute details ironed out, I posted the event and he posted the thread.
There shouldn't be a huge need for staff presence, though I'm going to try to be around.

.. i found a 1000 radius ring for frigates a bit small.
Wonder how your going to fit something like two stations and a couple dreads in there ...

There's a small problem, the event is set to be held in beta? from what I've seen beta is still broket

Are there any restrictions on what can be loaded into cargo with the intent of being used in the event?

Yes. No illegal drugs, smuggling of humans, kluth limbs, Bald Knobs, Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters, Infinite Improbability Drives, Sperm whales, bowls of petunias, Ocotatian cheese wheels, Essence of Coeus, Concentrated Essence of Coeus, Dilute Essence of Coeus, or Coeus himself.
Some other items may also be forbidden, but those are the key ones.
