So i did a bit of testing now that i have linux installed again.

Darkspace works perfectly, or at least should work perfectly with capable video hardware, once you disable the sound driver in the wine control panel for
"Palestar/Darkspace/.Cache/Darkspace/Client.exe"

simply uncheck all boxes, and if you have shader model 1.0 or better, you should be able to play DS with no trouble at all
