It's not like Darkspace or EVE. Can't really describe what it's like. All I know is don't be fooled by the graphics! It's pretty much action-based PvP/PvE with a lot of deep elements including building and maintaining personal space stations.
Favorite part of that game vs Darkspace: When you capture ships, you can either use them as "slaves" that fight alongside you, or you can dock and then pilot them yourself. There's an entire class designed around using combat slaves. I wish that were possible in Darkspace; when you play SS and see people using combat slaves you'll know what I mean.
The two games are different enough that if you have an itch to play Darkspace, SS won't scratch it. And vice versa. I used to maintain accounts in both games but I barely have time to play just one now.
