Yes! this topic has been done before: probably several times, but I don't see a recent one...
By action I mean Combat.
We all were noobs at some point, even those with that crazy BT Badge. Just asking what other player you ever saw in a battle and their skills (tactics) blew your mind. Let's go with a top 3 to 5. If you can't narrow it down to 5, your a very indecisive person, but whatever.
My top 5, in no particular order:
Darksworde: Cool guy, and even though he was k'luth most of the time i saw him, he did fly ICC AC very often in the old FA servers. I learned quite a bit from having him NOT kill me.
Lunatiq: a seriously good leader to a ragtag bunch of noobs (ICC circa 2003)
Armand: Kinda that reminds me of Patton (american WWII general) on a good day... thats a good thing by the way
Hitman23: Really impressed me on a particular day defending a planet solo, in a Shell.
4cemje: Annoying as all hell with mines, and therefore, respect given. Most people back in the day would say everything from exploiting bad code to cheating to whatever, and in the end, the man just knew how to lay a good minefield. Let's leave it at that.
Which reminds me, bring back mines (the 1.480), code with a few tweaks/limitations.

i too go back to .483. i would have to list in no particular order...
1. Coeus. his way with the .483 AD is pretty good. good cruiser pilot as well.
2. Veronw. is a pretty good pilot as well.
3. Enterprise. this pilot is very talented and knows a lot of strategies to win. i admire this pilot.
i can't list Crimson because i know how he fights, it's nothing special.

So in the last 5 years i've been off and on with this game I've come to know some pretty amazing peeps and seen some pretty awesome display of strategy and tactics. Here's my list of just a few people I've either fought in combat or seen with my own eyes reap massive destruction on the battlefield:
1. Veronw - I have flown with and against this bad boy and let me tell you.. A. he knows his stuff. B. hard as a mother****er to kill. and C. all around good guy.
2. [PB]Darksworde - him and I dueled once a looong time ago. Yes he was victorious.. lol the match up was semi-unfair in my opinion  (His Ganglia vs my Assault Cruiser) but its all good  . Very skilled pilot and tactition.
3. [CEC]Virus*CL* - you freakin bastage! lol j/k This guy has taken me down more than anyone else. Back in my UGTO days we flew together but once I finally decided to stick to ICC cuz they are prettier... he has been a thorn in my side. Gj mate.
4. Ent- ahh ent.. good ol' ent.. what can i say here.. lol this guy makes me laugh. Although, he's best suited for my target practice he has given me a run for me money on a couple occasions. Thus, I dub him a challenge
5. And finally but not last.. FATAL FOREVER(tm) !!!!!! yes we all knew it was coming so just accept it and move on! lawl
God i miss the good ol' days!

I would go for banshe, kamakaza chicken, and sevral other agent fleet members whom i can not reamber.
I reamber back in the day all of agents were given there props as we faught hard and didn't back down from a fight.
