I think it can get a bit tiring and distract from the fun of the game if there are no repair ships around when you take damage and you have to spend 10+ minutes orbiting a planet doing absolutely nothing but waiting. So simple idea, I think it would make sense for your ships to be able to repair while in your hanger. So it can't be abused or change the balance of the game too much it could be a very slow repair, maybe an hour to fully repair a cruiser or dreadnought. Just something so when you get damaged you can either grab another ship, log off, whatever and not be stuck waiting around doing nothing.

That would be great, on the conditions that you can't jump in it when there are enemy near by. I know its that way now but it takes a good twenty seconds for a planet to register that its under siege and lock down the shipyard and such sometimes. Thats more than enough time to jump in a shipyard and reappear with a healthy station or some such nonsense. Also once they use the feature they shouldn't be able to get it out for that period of time. Incidently, I would have preferred that rather than making planets more powerful, they just add more building slots. That means more weapons or a wider variety of functions, and always more building prestige. Really annoying to have my own planet be hitting me from behind trying to hit the enemy ship attacking me while I'm repairing, so I like your idea.

I like it but maybe make it that all damage ire repaired when the game server shuts dpown and restarts.

That way - i damage some ships today - forget to repair them andwhen i come back tomorrow they are all fixed.

It just saves the tedious bit that a lot of players do when thay have finished playing of sitting at planet with depots repairing all the ships that they broke that session!!

Also the fact that it onlyhappens oncea day avoids any kind of exploit or having say 6 battle dreads in your hanger - spawning one- figting it for 5 mins then logging it off - getting the next etc.

I've mentioned this in-game as well, glad to see I wasn't the only one to think of it.

After a day of intense fighting, you'd rather not have to log in and idle for 30 minutes or so getting your three, four ships repaired again.

Especially not if you're ICC with Active shielding, you'd rather they restored in the hangar as well.

I dont think it would be such a good idea to remove repair ships from the game ,its hard enough for new guys to get pres at the start.
On to the question of icc shileds i think there case is a special one they at the moment are the most defenceless ships in the game if you spawn a previously killed ship they need to be on something like a 25% shield strength on spawning those ships as after all they are the defencive faction

also the game needs a 2 minute spawn time limit on all spawns/deaths.

i believe the OP means that when there is no repair ship around, instead of sitting next to a planet for a long time doing absolutely nothing waiting for your ship to be repaired, it should be slowly repaired in your garage. Because of the time needed for your ship to be repaired in the garage supply ships would still be very much needed in game.

I like this idea as well, but I think it would be much simpler, as Dionysian said, if all ships in the garage were "reset" to full health when the server restarts, this would simplify the process greatly and minimize abuse (other than getting heavily damaged right before restart).

Or, do what has always been done in the past. Hop in an engy and build a 10 depot planet somewhere in the backwaters. Earn pres and help out the entire faction at the same time!
