hey there!
so yeah, the flamers are actually probably just joking. half of them dont use proper syntax themselves. that and i would laugh if the first comment i got in a game on the internet was a snipe at my grammar =P it gives you a hint of the education level here atleast.
some quick tips: unless youre a dread or a station, keep moving in combat or youre going to bite the dust. time your shots, dont spacebar mash, youll be more effective. and try to backup the bigger ships, youll learn a lot watching them (succeed or fail =P). other than that remember to have fun and ignore the complainers =) if you need a hand with anything ask anyone in a green shirt, or anyone in the more respected fleets. give all 3 factions a try too! even if you like kluth best its good to know your enemy =)

But yes, most of us are just fooling around and are more than willing to give advice(for better or worse) and have a chat. As long as you come across as mature.
