Most scientists, engineers and the like are booksmart, but they lack simple common sense. Go figure eh?

I think a lack of common sense, for any given value of the term, is common in most people.

On a more serious note, it's apalling how stupid people can be. What makes it worse is that I live here and had planned on going to college here as well, but I think I'm going to go someplace else now. Perhaps MIT will accept me? XD

I had a teacher who put a common sense question in an exam:
Which of the following is the correct answer to this question?
A) Marxism.
B) Pre-Historic China.
C) This one.
D) The French Revolution.
I was one of ten people from all of his classes to get the right answer.
The rest of his students had a pretty even average between the other three answers, because they looked like a good choice.
For some reason, when it comes to education, alot of people lose common sense. I think they're too used to not using it in class, that they don't look for it.
