I just had a Cool idea: you could pilot fighters, bombers, AWACS aircraft and interceptors!

Alot may think Why?

1. Interceptors wouldnt be useless
2. fightercraft could be smarter
3. redesignation of a target after a ship disappears(eg K'luth cloak)
4. bombers wouldnt be suicidal
5. alot of fun!

Wouldnt that be similar to flying a scout? Would need more players.. Unless of course the ship that sent them out had the option when going to camera in on them to control them.. Still that would make being a carrier more dangerous as you wouldnt know what was going on with your actual ship

Well, fighters are smaller. and i also like the idea of having a player vessel to be a "host" for you.

what if you could pilot the fighters as a whole, like if you launch say 6 fighters, you go to a screen that shows all 6 fighters in formation and you can controll what target they have, whether to go to auto piolot for like interceptors. Im trying to say, control the fighters as a whole as if you were plating something like SoSE... if you get what i mean.

besides requiring a whole new interface for the z axis, it would be quite fun but entirely unecessary.

Z axis wouldnt be needed. and im not aiming at functionality as much as i am fun here
