I've compared iphones to other smartphones, and honestly the iphone isn't really that great compared to other options. But to each their own...

Have a list of people's phone numbers.
To be able to send and receave a Text message.
Linking my nettop to my cell phone with bluetooth and utilize the phone's G3 calabilities to internet everywhere.
Check E-mail trough IMAP.
Use the onphone Wifi to share internet with more people.
Providing a controler for my nettop's winamp.
Handy for Wifi location identifier.
Its got a 4gb storrage for music when my nettops battery is unexpectedly empty.
Nothing more, nothing less.
What i use, Sony ericcson eXperia 1.

When they said these an app for just about anything they weren't lying but as an experienced iPhone owner to get the full potiental anotherwords all the gimicks as in custom tabs custom icons custom sounds custom everything you need to jailbreak your iPhone to get the phone in such a position that it will do what ever you want.
Which also brings up legal issues the dev team release the software to jailbreak with now it's not illigal to have or to jailbreak but according to apple your not allowed to have the jailbreak software which to me is double Dutch seeing as the dev team themselves are the very people who are releasing the software in the first place.
