Tellaris, your post is spot on m8. Good 1.

Problem with the old GTNs is the alzhimers... they forget which buttons to press sometimes

Eh? What waz that? Ah, ya young little whippersnappers, I should cut me a switch and give you what for!

Though I can't say for ICC, I find K'Luth, with a little EW support, have the defensive capacity of wet paper.
And yes, grouping will help mitigate the presitge lost from the player that has to do EW support... IF THEY ARE LOWER RANK. Remember, the grouping system was always designed that the lowest ranked player in the group got the biggest percentage of prestige. Everyone still got some, but a, say, Commander, would get a LOT more then say, a GA. I doubt they will change this either.

I got just one question, this was posted 6 month ago, assuming he just got 2RA for icc HC.

HOW THE HELL did he get to Grand Admiral in 6 month if his having so much touble fighting kluth?

and the thing about the frigs, OF COURSE u died,
1.) kluth specialize aganst small ships, beam heavy.
2.) Most frigs are not designed for combat, most Attack/Assult scouts can kill em with ease.
3.) Kluth AHR wont help u win the battle if the fight goes from 1:1 to 2:2 without serious teamwork.

U need to realized kluth is NOT a noob/newbie friendly faction, the ones flying Mandis are the relative easy foes. Those who take a smaller ship into battle, will either die in 2 min then hop to ugto, or KEEP KILLING U IN THE MOST HUMILIATING MANNER , over and over again.

As a non-hopping ICC newbie i realized soon that Kluth is the real thread.

Playing Scenario against UGTO only is like holidays, compared to a map where a pack of Kluth is online.

And there is nothing more impressive and beautyfull then a patiently lurking Kluth Dread, suddenly apearing right next to you, acid your little ship away if you only hesitate to e-jump.
Thats part of the game to live with this permanent thread as a human beeing and its even part of the fun.
While a kluth may have a comfortable look over the battlefield,
we have to be alert anytime a Kluth Dread was sighted fo a second somewhere.
I dont hate the alien, i am forced to respect it.

And we are FORCED to work together, thats the point.
As mentioned we are in need of beacon/eccm volunteers.

Some Kluth veterans here freely admit that, but they say it like we are just to stupid to work together.. ney sire! its just: who wants to fly a BD or Dictor and a Sup all the time and are there enough players available to do so + bringing in damage power?

Maybe i am repeating others here, just wanted to support the topic opener:
Your not alone (sry for bad english.)

hehe... if you find yourself in a large fleet battle between ICC and UGTO expect the K'Luth to be very close... they'll come in and basically smash and grab any of the targets that are in the red, or blind side one of the forces for both. I've seen it happen numerous times... not that I hate it but I find that unpredictability fun ^^

since this is so old... This was written when i was 1RA. Ive since been beat into shape by PB, and am a verry effective luth hunter, To all the noobs, Once you can get the escort dessy, its the best weapon against them.. beacons,, beams, and two eccm... cant beat that.

First off id like to say that flying around this game in the crappy icc. and ugto friggs was a freaking nightmare... die die die... thats all i ever did... and was always in combat, and outnumberd by kluth. This gave me a deep burning hatred for kluth and made me want to learn how to kill them. I spent a lot of time procuring ships and weapons that woudl kill my bug nemissis. I even went so far as to totaly disown any tech that would not help me defeat a bug.... For if you can defet the bugs, you can defete all UGTO has to offer.

In my quest to procure ships that would defreat my enemy, i found a jewl of a ship. The Combat Dessy. This ship had the firepower (if you got rid of those rediculess missles) do fend off most kluth threats. Feeling high on my new found power i challanged several kluth to one on one battles.....
In my battles i found that i was severly outmatched. I could chew down to their hull..they woudl dissapear...and come back full power.... i could have kept up that cycle for ever exept... ammo... ammo runs out on ICC...something no other faction has to deal with.

After a rew defeats i opted to fly around as thy enemy. I took a kluth Dessy..dont remember witch one.. and decimated several people in RR
Why was my advisary so powerful?
becouse not only do they get a get out of battle free card, but they also have 1100 hull points and automated armor repair....
with that being said i quickly realized what i was up against...
even a kluth frigg one on one will not ever be subdued by my combat dessy.... i dont have the ammo to.

That being said, i have killed my share of kluth players, but usualy becouse they made mistakes.
So then i was contempt with just surviving against kluth...
I had no intrest of openly going to fight them.... whats the point.. i shoot them... they shoot me... i shoot them back... they cloak and heal.... wash rinse repeat...

Next up indictors.
my only encounters with kluth indictors is when there are 5 or more kluth attacking me and a indictor stopping me from jumping out... a nightmare. and yes i have just left servers all together becouse of it. and yes i will continue to just leave when an indictor is around... why you ask?
becouse the kluth have enuff advantages over me as is without indictors.
im alway outnumberd... they always cloak and run... and they have inf ammo.. WTH would i stay around while they gain yet another advantage over me????
Fighting people is fine by me... but by no means am i gonna hand you free kills.

With all that being said... ive unlocked new toys tonight... HC and such.
so i may be thru my fear of Kluth... we shall see

one more thing... ive only ever faced ugto in combat maby 6 times the entire time ive played... i must say fighting UGTO is a much better experience.. ill even hang around an fight them against the odds...
ive never enjoyed fighing kluth..

so there it is ppl
hope this helps
