After playing this game for a while, I was thinking that there wasn't much to building platforms/planets and repairing ship. You just pick what to build and where and it does it automatically. Couldn't we have something more interactive? Like, say, something similar to lego blocks (or other similar kid toys)?

No, we aren't going to be turning this into legoland But what we would be seeing is players actually putting together pieces of whatever they are building together, which approximates real-life construction. If you are building a weapons platform, you would grab a few 'generator' pieces for power, plus 'repair drone', 'sensor', 'chemical laser', 'reinforced armor', exc., with your only limitation for building being how many resources you got. Not only is this a lot more involved, but it also allows for some heavy customization and the ability to make stuff light or heavy.

Repairing stuff would work much the same way. Just swap out damaged 'pieces' for fresh ones. And possibly take the damaged ones to a planet for recycling.

Will it take effort on the developer's part to do? Yes. Does it have to be done? No. BUT, it would make otherwise mundate tasks a lot more meaningful and worthwhile.

Comments? Suggestions?

Sorry to say but this game is not focusing on general development of the universe, its about tactical ship to ship combat.

Adding these features would take us away more from ship to ship combat and focus more on a subsystem management something we try to not have at all.

That would be awesome. But I honestly can't think of anything that would make it more interactive.. <<

This goes back to the old system where destroyed ships as well as factories would produce parts that you could fit into slots in your ship but that has been done away with, although I never personally had a problem with it
