I've noticed that there is no button to evenly spread out your shield power across all shields.
This button existed in the past (num pad nr. 5).
It's obviously very convenient, and doesn't give an advantage ingame.
So if there is no other good reason to let it out (i'm not aware of any), why not re-implement it in a future patch?

I also spoke with a few other icc players ingame, they seemed to shear this opinion.
Any new opinions are welcome of course.

no, but it would transfer shield energy to whatever was on a full-arc mount, usually aux shield gens or the occasional full-arch shield (icc engies being one example)

in regards to the keys, cant it be set up to just use a combo of keys, like ctrl+numpad 5 to even out all arcs, and use ctrl+numpad 8 (or 4, 6, 2) to shift a bigger amount of shield strength to its respectable arc than without ctrl? or even to use the ctrl to reinforce the active/reactive shields only on each arc, not the aux? Not necessarily ctrl, but.. just an idea.

i don't really see the problem.
The button (like i had in mind) would transfer shield power so that all shields have equal % of power (no matter what arch they cover). If this is not possible (for example there are 4 shields but 361 %'es to distribute over these shields) then 1 or a few shields would get 1 % more of course.

It doesn't matter if auxiliary shield generators get also their shear of the power i think.

If there are more then 1 type of shields (active / repulsive) on the ship and their energy cannot be sheared then it would be like this:
the energy of shield type 1 is sheared among the shields of that type
the energy of shield type 2 is sheared among the shield of that type.

I do hope this approach makes it possible to re-implement the button, there is not enough time in combat to regularly check the % of all shields and distribute the shield power for each shield separately.

Mersenne wasn't denying the idea, just saying that numpad-5 did that in the past. I don't think there's ever been an option to evenly distribute shield energy across all facings.

(Just to clarify. I can't speak to whether it will be implemented)

Speaking of ICC Shields.... Are they still terribly OP and needing a mild nerfing? Or has it been established that the reason ICC was so powerful is because it had numbers again?
