A respawn timer would be a good solution as that would cut down on any dread/station spam. The timer should of course be dynamic enough to cater for how many players are online for that faction. If it's only a couple of players, having a respawn timer may be detrimental (say if you're trying to prevent a planet from being capped).

However, pres currently is heavily weighted towards combat. If repairs or other tasks gained almost as much pres, then perhaps people could specialise in those areas rather than constantly looking for the next target.

Can't agree with the increase in pres loss for losing a ship. It might be low for some but for those who only have time to play DS for a couple of hours a night, a single loss could wipe out the daily gain (depending on course on what they were doing to gain the pres). Depending on the average session time of players, the DS player base might be worse off under this plan, as people may just not bother playing it anymore.

zzzz dont chang egame ppl always whine its standard. give ppl a billion dollars they complain about having to much money to spend and other ppl being jealous.....

if game sucks, nobody would play it
if game rules, all ppl would play it.

game sucks cause of lag, desynch, ease of some players to use exploits.
game rules cause...well...u played it...

game developers can make changes. personally i think all game changes proposed by players...suck ass a lot! always a stupid (newbie style) comment on losing 200 pres by dying once or twice makes dev force a change that make game like all other standard space-MMO: sucky

dont change game, dont listen to whiners in forum saying someone need nerf, someone needs boost.

basics:

Kluth: can cloak. nobody can see em when cloaked. Got sucky armor and energy

icc: got shield on ship and planet. good defense vs bombing, long range weapons. energy can be difficult.

ugto: good allround

if these basics are not altered, game will stay nice i think. its the reason ppl play this game for a lot of years.


big problem: kluth cloaking been nerfed by increasing scanner/eccm potential. cloaking useless withing 600 gu of enemy. sometimes cloaking useless on bigger range, depends on number of enemy ships with ecm/scanner. this brakes basic rule of kluth "can cloak. nobody can see em when cloaked."

so if eccm/scanner is more effective...something from kluth should be upgraded...but then what about icc? after u upgraded their weap/ecm/def...then what about ugto? u upgrade ugto...but then what about kluth? etc....

just stick with the basics, and add general fun stuff for all factions...and maybe a faction loyalty system. like +20% prestige gain, if ur same faction unchanged for even a sec, during a month or more. prevent hoppers spying or sabotaging planets ( what happens at least 3x/day, so it is really a priority in fun and fair battle in metaverse)


basically...pppl....stop proposing silly new things in the game because of thoughts on unbalanced game play. balance is in the end decided by players, so if u think ur on the side that is seriously overpowered, switch sides.

If all payers are so egocentric noobs they dont want to change sides cause of pres gain when fighting 2 dreads with 20 dreads/station +piercer, just expand faction loyalty system: if ppl go to faction that has almost no members: +100% pres, at least. We all know that giving a pres bonus somewhere draws a lot of players not caring if its fun or not, so that measure will help even things out.

oh and also: its about time the pretige farming bug is getting fixed i see a lot of ppl only playing a month with more then a hundred thousand pres. They done that in luyten or procyon...donno exactly, but thought it had something to do with asteroid......

if thare was no prestige loss then i would do very CRAZY things not a good thing for the meta verse......or the people in it.......
